René Nebesky-Wojkowitz’s bequest consists of a wide-ranging collection of data and objects he acquired for the Weltmuseum Wien (former Völkerkunde Museum Wien) during three trips to the Himalayas in the 1950s. Beside manuscripts and artifacts he handed over to the museum during his lifetime, numerous personal notes and letters as well as photographs, which are essential for the reconstruction of his research trips and the processing of his legacy, were given to the museum after his death and are now kept mainly at the letter archive (Schriftarchiv) and the photographic archive (Fotoarchiv) respectively of the Weltmuseum Wien.
