Among the Dumi Rai, the largely female sakela or bhume deities manifest in stones that are kept in the ground at a special spot (sakela than) during the year and only dug out during the sakela ritual. Here a part of the stones that can only be touched by specially designates ritual functionaries are shown to the ritual participants at this occasion.
