- Title
- Place of worship for reijakhule at Tuwachung-Jayajum hill
- Description
- The meaning of the groups of stones worshipped here and called reijakhule is discussed controversially among the Rai. Some think they represent Khema, the maiti (kinship of the mother's side of Toma and Khema) and Toma. Others associate it with Malla devi, the daughter of a Malla king.
According to mythology the two sisters Toma and Khema, and their younger brother Kakcilipu (as they are called among the Dumi Rai) lived on and around Tuwachung-Jayajum. The sisters invented the craft of weaving on the hill of Tuwachung-Jayajum, while Kakcilipu and his wife Nagelum invented agricultural techniques.
