Buddha Subbha Temple, Dharan

The Buddha Subbha temple, visited by worshippers of different religions, is also related to a Kirat death spirit:

In the time when Pritvi Narayan Shah of the Gorkha kingdom reached Eastern Nepal, there was a Primeminister in place called Buddhikarna Rai. He fled to India, but was brought back to Nepal and hanged in Dharan, where he died on the fourth day. Du to this 'bad' death, he turned into a violent death spirit called Buddha Subbha. He is still active as 'guru' (tutelary spirit of ritual specialists), for instance in the Dumi Rai village of Simpani where he hindered a female Limbu ritual specialist from converting to Christianity. (For the latter see publication: "Contesting power, negotiation influence" by Alban von Stockhausen and Marion Wettstein, 2013, in "Shamanism and Violence" edited by Riboli and Torri).
